“But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are little among the thousands of Judah, Yet out of you shall come forth to Me the One to be Ruler in Israel, Whose goings forth are from of old, From everlasting.” (Micha 5:2)
Bethlehem; a people least among the thousands. A little flock hidden from men but ordained by God to be greatest in the Kingdom. Behold the little child! For whoever shall receive you shall receive Him.
Behold, out of Bethlehem shall come a Ruler who will rule with a scepter of righteousness to shepherd His people. From among the overcoming company of sons shall come forth the Anointed One to heal and redeem and reconcile all unto Himself.
Bethlehem! Arise and be light! Rejoice and be glad! For a Child shall be born in thee and they shall call His name Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. For of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end.
Oh Bethlehem Ephrathah; the place of fruitfulness… what joy that shall be brought forth in thee. For after the night of your travail shall the Christ, the One whose goings forth are from of old and from the ages be lifted up in thy house to draw all men unto Himself.
Bethlehem, despised by your brothers, the Lord is risen upon you and His glory shall be seen upon you. Though you have been forsaken and hated, so that no one went through you, He will make you an eternal excellence, a joy of many generations. The Gentiles shall come to feast in the abundance of your life and kings to the brightness of your rising.
Bethlehem; the house of bread, a storehouse of spiritual provision for the awakening and nourishment of all tribes and tongues.
For to whom will the nations come to be fed?
“Lift up your eyes all around, and see: They all gather together, they come to you; Your sons shall come from afar, your daughters shall be nursed at your side. Then you shall see and become radiant, And your heart shall swell with joy; Because the abundance of the sea shall be turned to you, The wealth of the Gentiles shall come to you” (Isa. 60:4-5).
Bethlehem; the dwelling of His choosing, Zion of the Holy One, you shall be the expression of His life unto all creation and the radiance of His glory to uttermost parts of the earth. The Lord has ordained you for His habitation and it is indeed marvelous in our eyes!
